feline clients have  reached their senior years,we feel it is very important to use

A lot of veterinarians believe a cat enters old age at 12.  Other experts will
classify your cat as being old at 15.

As your cat as enters old age,he will begin to sleep even more...as much as 18
hrs. a day.  So it is time for you to start watching the calories!  Most of this task
can be accomplished by out-lawing the fatty foods in the forms of table scraps,
no matter how much you wish to spoil your pet.




Here are a few things we remember when watching your pet:

Unless a  cat has water placed in different areas of the house,they will put off
getting the water they need unless it is placed conveniently in their pathway. We
have listed some of the issues to consider with older pets,especially cats.  Cats
easily dehydrate and this issue can not be taken lightly when it comes to their
basic health requirements.

Dehydration of cells and tissues
Reduced oxygen flow to tissues
Decreased ability of cells to maintain their internal environment (homeostasis)
Reduced immune response
Declining efficiency of enzyme systems within the body
Increased incidence of tumor development
Gradual decline in organ function reduced nervous system responsiveness and
personality changes

Increased susceptibility to stress and decreased adaptability to
environmental changes.

Pet Sitting will reduce animal stress by allowing the cat to remain in his own home
environment.

When your cat reaches age 12, consult with your veterinarian about a planned
diet that prevents obesity but still provides all the nutrients for a senior cat.
Follow all the medical advice your vet gives you, and you will feel reassured when
you leave home and put your precious cat in a pet sitters care.
